Top Cover - Trails in the Sub-Stratosphere Print Postcard
This artwork was created based on "Trails in the Sub-Stratosphere," the most widely published WWII aerial combat photo of its time. The image features a B-17 Flying Fortress assigned to the 390th Bomb Group. The postcard's artwork is a reproduction of a 20-foot wide mural which hangs in the museum's lobby. It was also reproduced in metal and is a stunning architectural feature at the Museum's entrance. Shown in the backdrop are dramatic contrails from the attacking German fighter planes. The print is displayed on lightly textured, linen paper, and measures 8.5" wide by 5.5" tall.
